Marine's wife, daughter and 1 other killed in tragic accident

Tragedy struck a Georgia family when multiple loved ones were killed in a devastating car wreck, including an infant girl. The accident victims spanned four different generations of the same family. The wrongful death of close families in an accident can hit a family hard, piling unexpected costs on top of the pain of grieving.

One of the fatality victims was driving a vehicle with her daughter, grandmother, grandfather and niece in the car just prior to the accident. For reasons that are still not clear to investigators, another vehicle rear-ended their car hard enough to kill the driver, her daughter and grandmother while sending the grandfather and niece to the hospital. The 4-year-old girl suffered only minor injuries, but the grandfather was last listed in critical condition, and the family apparently does not have high hopes for his ability to pull through. The driver's husband was away for Marine duty when he learned of his wife and daughter's death.

Police are still investigating exactly what happened. The driver who caused the wreck has yet to be charged with any criminal allegation related to the accident, although that could change should investigators document the necessary evidence. That driver also managed to escape the accident mostly unscathed and was the only individual involved who did not have to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

It can be difficult to make sense of such a violent and devastating car accident that costs the life of so many individuals. There is nothing that can ever truly replace the life of a loved one, but many families in Georgia who have suffered losses such as this find solace and peace in the successful navigation of a personal injury claim filed against a negligent driver. Criminal charges are not a prerequisite for seeking justice through the civil court system, making the process a legal option for families who are concerned that a sense of justice was never fully served.
