Woman dies in accident allegedly caused by negligent bus driver

Transporting other people's children is an enormous responsibility. The community of Whitmire Circle in North Hall County was rocked by a fatal bus accident that occurred on a recent Tuesday afternoon. The Georgia State Patrol reported that one person was killed and several injured when a bus and a passenger car collided at an intersection.

According to an accident report, the bus was operated by a 56-year-old driver, and it was occupied by 31 children. It is alleged that the bus driver failed to yield after stopping at an intersection. As she attempted to turn left, the collision with the car occurred that reportedly killed the 52-year-old driver of the car on impact. Witnesses said the car was severely damaged, and the driver had to be extricated, only to be declared deceased.

Fortunately, nothing more than minor injuries were reportedly suffered by the children; however, some kids did complain about leg and back pains that may cause problems in the aftermath of the crash. The injured children were all treated at the hospital and released later that day. The bus driver, who was reportedly also uninjured, is now facing a charge of failure to yield before turning at a stop sign and also a second-degree vehicular homicide charge.

The family of the Georgia woman who lost her life in this bus accident will likely be facing the high costs that are typically associated with end-of-life arrangements. Although it will not change the sad circumstances, financial relief might be available through the Georgia legal system. If negligence can be established before the court, a successfully presented wrongful death claim may result in a monetary judgment against the driver and owner of the bus. A court will consider all documented claims for pecuniary and emotional losses that were brought about by the fatal accident.
