Georgia rapper, Rick Ross, focused on criminal defense

Police recently arrested William Leonard Roberts, who is perhaps better known by the name of Rick Ross, on allegations of both assault and kidnapping. Famous for his rapping skills, Ross is a resident of Georgia. These charges come after an arrest for possession of marijuana, although both incidents apparently occurred close together. His criminal defense is surely Ross' first order of business as he confronts the accusations and prepares for upcoming court proceedings.

A July 2015 traffic stop led to Ross' initial charges. Police officers suspected that the tint on his vehicle's windows might have violated local laws but, after approaching the vehicle, apparently noted the smell of marijuana. Ross is said to have subsequently gave authorities permission to search his vehicle, where they allegedly found evidence of marijuana, leading to his possession charge.

Only days before this traffic stop, police had launched an investigation into another suspected crime. Although details concerning the investigation have not disclosed at this time, both Ross and another Georgia man have been charged on allegations of aggravated battery and kidnapping. Ross, police say, is also charged with assault.

Although the exact details of Ross' charges are not yet available, he is likely already considering his various options for a competent and well-rounded criminal defense. Defendants often have a lot on the line when it comes to serious charges such as kidnapping and drug possession, including lost employment and education opportunities. Most Georgia residents facing allegations such as this find that their counsel can help complete a careful review of their charges before determining how to handle the charges in a way that will achieve the most favorable outcome possible.
